Mark A. Cameron, Hon. AIA

Founder + Principal Consultant, Cameron MacAllister Group

Mark established the consultancy 31 years ago to provide marketing advice and strategies to design firms. Prior to that, he was Director of Marketing for NBBJ (1981-86) and The Architects Collaborative (1971-81).

His expertise includes strategic planning, leadership development, training and coaching, and ownership transition.

Mark and his fellow consultants advise more than 100 firms a year on a range of topics. Through this broad consulting to many firms he has gathered insight, understood best practices, and forecast future scenarios for design and delivery of projects.

Mark also co-founded the Design Colloquium, an annual event attended by many of the best architecture, engineering, planning and urban design firms in the U.S. and Canada. In the Colloquium, leaders of these firms exchange ideas and experiences around issues they are facing.

          He has also lectured on strategic planning and marketing at:

          University of California, Berkeley, School of Architecture;

          University of Washington, School of Business Administration;

          American Institute of Architects (national convention and local chapters); and

          Society for Marketing Professional Services (national convention and local chapters).

In 2016 The American Institute of Architects conferred Honorary Membership on Mark, in recognition for his contribution to the profession. This is the highest award a non-architect can receive.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Milligan College and a Master’s degree from Harvard.
